The Botswana Entertainment Promoters Association (BEPA) theld a landmark General Meeting at Molapo Crossing in Gaborone, setting the stage for a new era of growth and transformation in Botswana’s entertainment industry. The gathering brought together promoters and strategic partners in a show of unity and forward-thinking aimed at repositioning BEPA as a leading voice and force in the creative sector.

The meeting’s central highlight was the official announcement of new partnerships with a range of reputable organizations, signaling BEPA’s intent to professionalize the industry and provide greater support to its members. Among the newly unveiled collaborators are Security Systems, which will provide high-level event security and safety services; Bomaid, offering tailored wellness and medical support packages; Pula Brokers and Exclusive Insurance, bringing bespoke insurance solutions for events and promoters; The Voice Newspaper, which joins as a media partner to enhance publicity and advocacy; and Gabs FM, which will offer broadcast support to amplify member campaigns and activities.

These partnerships form part of BEPA’s broader strategy to improve industry standards, bolster member welfare, and foster a resilient ecosystem for sustainable events management in Botswana. The move reflects an ambitious vision for a more structured and supportive industry environment that can withstand operational risks while opening new pathways for opportunity and growth.

During the proceedings, BEPA leadership also delivered a candid update on the current state of the association, outlining progress in stakeholder engagements, the challenges that persist, and ongoing initiatives to resolve longstanding issues. Members were acknowledged for their continued support and patience as the association works to institutionalize good governance and best practices.

In his opening remarks, BEPA Chairperson Goaba Mojakgomo underlined the need for transparency, unity, and legal alignment. “This meeting is not just about reporting back, it is about shaping the future of BEPA with unity, integrity and foresight,” he said. “The partnerships we unveil today reflect our commitment to building strong alliances that benefit our members and uplift the entire entertainment industry. The constitutional review will ensure we remain accountable, effective and legally sound as we grow.”

A key agenda item was the call for a member mandate to undertake a constitutional review, which BEPA says is essential to align its operations with evolving industry dynamics and strengthen its institutional legitimacy. The proposal was met with strong support from members, many of whom praised the association’s direction and reaffirmed their commitment to its goals.
