Eighteen-year-old Sean Lebudi stole the show this past weekend, clinching victory at the Orange EA Sports FC 26 Tournament and earning the honour of representing Botswana at the Grand Final in Casablanca, Morocco, this December.
The Botswana Accounting College (BAC) star delivered a stunning performance throughout the competition, showing composure, precision, and tactical brilliance. In the ultimate final, Lebudi edged out Leo Modise in a nail-biting 5–4 win to claim the individual championship. His triumph capped a dominant run for BAC, who also won the team title after defeating the University of Botswana 2–1 in a tense final.
Lebudi walked away with a P3,000 voucher from HOCO, a TCL 50 5G smartphone, and a Wi-Fi device, while his college took home six Orange 5G Konnecta devices, three-month free subscriptions, and P10,000 in Orange Money credit for their team victory.
Speaking after his win, the young champion expressed excitement and pride at the chance to represent the nation on the international stage.
“I was one of the youngest players in this tournament, and it was really competitive. I practically won all my matches leading up to the grand finale,” said Lebudi. “I’m super excited about winning this. I prepared for it, and I can’t wait to represent Botswana in Morocco. I’ll make sure I reach the final stage. I really appreciate the platform Orange Botswana has opened for us gamers. Gaming is now recognized as a sport in Botswana.”

Orange Botswana’s Communications and PR Manager, Tebogo Nadisah, praised Lebudi’s performance and the tournament’s success, describing it as a testament to the country’s growing digital sports culture.
“This tournament has shown that Botswana has incredible gaming talent and potential,” said Nadisah. “We are proud to provide platforms that empower young people to showcase their skills and compete internationally.”
She added that Orange Botswana’s continued investment in e-gaming is part of a broader commitment to youth empowerment and sports development.
