    Stanbic Bank Botswana Continues To Support Education – P150,000.00 Towards Bec Excellence Awards Sponsorship For 10th Year

    GABORONE – Stanbic Bank Botswana has once again reaffirmed its dedication to academic excellence and youth empowerment by sponsoring the 15th Annual Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) Excellence Awards. This year, the Bank pledged P150,000.00 towards the initiative, building on 9 years of support prior.

    The annual BEC awards ceremony celebrates the outstanding performance of Botswana’s brightest BGCSE candidates. It aims to encourage a culture of academic excellence by motivating students, teachers, and parents to strive for the highest standards in education.

    Since the inception of the partnership in 2015 between BEC and Stanbic Bank, the Bank has supported over 100 students and, with a cumulative sponsorship value of P1,270,000.00. This is with a view towards sustainably and meaningfully ensuring students are empowered with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital and competitive world.

In the education space, the Bank, beyond the BEC platform, has longstanding relationships in support of BIUST, Gabane Primary School (STEAM), and the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) Stock Market Simulator and financial literacy programme, to name a few.
