FNB Botswana has opened a new full-service branch in Tutume, bringing its national branch network to 26 and strengthening its commitment to financial inclusion, economic participation and shared prosperity.
The branch was officially opened by Bank of Botswana Governor Lesego Caster Moseki at a ceremony attended by government leaders, traditional authorities, FNB Botswana directors and executives, business leaders and community members.
The opening forms part of FNB Botswana’s 35th-anniversary celebrations and its long-term strategy to bring financial services closer to communities and expand access to opportunities across Botswana.
Located in one of the Central District’s largest villages, the Tutume branch offers transactional banking, lending, savings, investments and insurance. It complements FNB’s digital banking platforms and CashPlus agent network, giving residents and businesses access to an integrated range of banking services.
FNB Botswana Chief Executive Officer Steven Lefentse Bogatsu said the branch represented a deliberate investment in the community’s economic future.
The opening also highlighted the importance of collaboration between financial institutions, government, traditional leadership and communities in supporting sustainable local development. FNB Botswana said its expanding physical footprint was being matched by investment in technology and innovative financial solutions, allowing customers to choose between branches, digital channels and agent banking.
“For 35 years, FNB Botswana has been committed to helping people and businesses build better futures. The opening of our Tutume Branch reflects our belief that opportunity should not be limited by geography,” he said.
Bogatsu said bringing financial services closer to where people live and work would encourage greater economic participation while supporting entrepreneurship and growth.
“At FNB Botswana, we believe that sustainable growth is achieved through shared prosperity. When entrepreneurs can access capital, when businesses can expand, and when individuals can save, invest and transact with confidence, entire communities benefit,” he said. He added that financial inclusion was about more than access to banking services, arguing that it could help unlock enterprise development, employment and improved livelihoods.
“Financial inclusion is not simply about banking access. It is about unlocking opportunity, supporting enterprise development, creating jobs and enabling people to improve their quality of life,” Bogatsu said.

The Tutume investment comes as the bank marks 35 years of operation in Botswana, with the institution positioning financial access as an important part of the country’s broader economic development and resilience.
Beyond banking, FNB Botswana reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability through an FNBB Foundation tree-planting initiative held alongside the opening.
