…bidding guidelines released by AFBC Normalisation Committee
The stage is being set for the AFBC Elite Men’s and Women’s African Boxing Championships, slated to take place between September and November 2025. The Africa Boxing Confederation (AFBC) Normalisation Committee has released the official bidding guidelines, opening the door for prospective host nations.
The announcement was made on June 25, 2025, by Pearl Dlamini, Chairperson of the Normalisation Committee and newly appointed head of African boxing. Dlamini, who hails from Eswatini, is overseeing preparations for one of the continent’s premier boxing events.
“We’re excited to move forward with the organisation of the Championships,” said Dlamini. “This tournament is crucial for the development of elite boxing across Africa, and we look forward to strong bids from across the continent.”
Interested countries have until July 16, 2025, to submit their letters of intent and completed bidding documents to the Normalisation Committee. The final host selection is expected shortly thereafter, allowing ample time for preparations ahead of the tournament window.
The AFBC Elite Championships will feature top-tier male and female boxers from across Africa, offering a platform for competition, exposure, and continental glory.
