Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) Chief Executive Officer, Professor Botsalano Mosimakoko, has been suspended. The suspension was confirmed this week, though the newly appointed BQA Board has not disclosed the reasons behind their decision to suspend her.

Efforts to obtain clarification from the BQA Board were unsuccessful, with officials declining to comment on the matter.

The development has reportedly sparked wild celebrations by staff at the institution. Mosimakoko who was appointed by former president Mokgweetsi Masisi has had a difficult relationship with the previous Board and members of her own executive team.
