    Boago Fenju joins African Music Academy (AMA) Honourary Committee

    Botswana Musicians Union is celebrating Boago FENJU in her selection, triumphing against 360 African Artists to become a member of the; African Music Academy Honourary Committee.

    The France based African Music Academy is an association under the French law of 1901. This initiation was created in 2014 with ambitions is to promote pan-African music from the African continent and the diaspora. This initiative includes educational competing, and professional actions, as well as dedicated awards. The initiative seeks to primarily sustain the African musician at the core of both the message and the architecture.

    At the beginning of the nomination process, 360 African Artists were nominated across 6 categories of; Composers, Song Writers, Producers, Managers, Performers and Musicians. All African Countries, across all African Regions took part, and Botswana was represented in all the 6 categories by: Kearoma Rantao, Suffocate, Mmurubele, Han-C, Fella, and Boago FENJU. Boago FENJU thus triumphed against 53 African Artists in the Song Writers Category.

    Boago FENJU was a nominee under the Song Writers’ Category of the 2025 African Academy Music Awards competing against 53 of the 320 African Artists, inclusive of the likes of the legendary Siphokazi of South Africa. An event is being organised in France where our very own Boago FENJU will be officially designated.

    We at BOMU congratulate our member; Boago FENJU of Botswana (Song Writers Category) for making it to top 6 together with: Miguel HERNANDEZ of Venezuela (Composers Category), Rich BIZZY of Zambia (Performers Category), Lulu of Malawi (Musicians Category), ChawaBeats of Malawi (Producer Category) and Lé ZULU of Burkina Faso (Managers Category).
