The Board, Management and Staff of the Competition and Consumer Authority today welcomed the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gideon Gobusamang Nkala.

Introducing the CEO, the Interim Chairperson of the Competition and Consumer Board, Dr. Bashi Mothusi, assured Mr. Nkala that he will get the full support of staff. He said while the organisation faces challenges such as financial and human resources, it has a dedicated team of people who are determined to carry out its mandate. He said staff have always worked together as a team and will continue to pull in the same direction. “If he succeeds, we all succeed, and if he fails, we all fail,” Dr. Mothusi said.

Dr. Mothusi thanked the Director of Corporate Services, Ms. Gomolemo Ratsie, who steered the ship as Acting CEO for the past two months, together with the Executive Management team.

In his remarks to staff, Mr. Nkala, who was previously with the CCA from 2011 to 2022 as Director of Communications and Advocacy, said he is excited to be back at the Authority. The CEO said together with his team he will strive to execute its mandate to improve the livelihoods of consumers and break impediments to a competitive market.
