One Donation at a Time

Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino is proud to announce the launch of its impactful community initiative, “Walk a Child to School”, aimed at supporting children in need through the collection of new and pre-loved school shoes.

The campaign seeks to restore dignity and confidence among underprivileged children by ensuring they have proper footwear to attend school comfortably and safely. The initiative will directly benefit children at Tsogang Trust.

As part of its ongoing commitment to community development, Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino has adopted Tsogang Trust, which supports 76 children, and has consistently contributed towards their well-being by covering school transportation costs over the past years. This campaign builds on that relationship by addressing another essential need for the children.

The total value of this year’s contribution is P30,000, which includes school shoes, food hampers, toiletries, and pre-loved clothing, all aimed at improving the overall well-being of the children and their families.

Speaking on the initiative, the Gaming Manager, Mr Mmoloki Mokgosi, highlighted the importance of collective action in driving meaningful change:

“At Avani, we believe that true hospitality extends beyond our hotel walls. Through the ‘Walk a Child to School’ campaign, we are not only providing shoes but also giving children the confidence and dignity they deserve as they pursue their education. We invite the community to join us in making a difference—one donation at a time.”

Members of the public, corporate organisations, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate by donating new or gently used school shoes. Each contribution will play a vital role in supporting a child’s educational journey and overall well-being.

Media partners are also invited to amplify the campaign by sharing its message and encouraging wider community participation.
