Botswana Air Access warmly welcomes the announcement by Proflight Zambia of its upcoming 3x-per-week, seasonal Lusaka-Livingstone–Maun service, set to launch in May 2026 and running until October 2026.

This route will enhance Southern Africa’s air connectivity and support the shared vision of promoting tourism and economic growth across the region. Zambia is one of Botswana’s key regional partner markets, and this new service will strengthen business cooperation, tourism growth, investment opportunities, and cultural ties between our two countries.

Proflight Zambia’s CEO, Mr. Anthony Irwin, shared the exciting news during the 55th AASA Annual General Assembly – highlighting the airline’s commitment to linking Zambia and Botswana’s renowned safari destinations. The introduction of this routewill provide travellers with a convenient connection between Zambia’s economic and tourism capital with Maun, the gateway to Botswana’s world-famous Okavango Delta.

The new route will boost tourism collaboration, expand travel options for safari enthusiasts, and enhance business connectivity between the two countries.

“We are delighted to welcome Proflight Zambia’s entry into Botswana’s international network,” said Dr. Bao Mosinyi – CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana and Spokesperson of Botswana Air Access. “This development represents a step forward for both our nations. Every new connection creates ripple effects of opportunity, and we look forward to seeing this service strengthen both economies, while expanding access for travellers and enhancing regional mobility. We are dedicated to fostering a partnership that advances the success, sustainability and growth of this important new route.”

The new route will boost tourism collaboration, expand travel options for safari enthusiasts, and enhance business connectivity between the two countries. It also complements the on-going efforts of the Botswana Air Access programme to attract new regional and international routes – fostering sustainable growth and job creation for our country.

Botswana Air Access looks forward to working closely with Proflight Zambia and domestic industry and regional partners to ensure the success of this service and to continue improving ease of air access for Botswana and Southern Africa.
