Absa Bank Botswana, in partnership with the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), continued its commitment to supporting women-led businesses. It hosted another successful edition of the Absa Women in Business Workshop Series in Gantsi and Maun on the 9th and 10th of July, respectively.
The workshop brought together women entrepreneurs from across the district for a day of learning, engagement, and networking. It provided practical knowledge to help them build resilient and sustainable businesses.
Recognising that access to information is as important as access to finance, the session focused on key business areas entrepreneurs encounter as they grow their enterprises. Participants received expert guidance on Intellectual Property Protection. They gained a better understanding of how to safeguard their ideas, innovations, and brands to create long-term business value.

The workshop also explored Talent Acquisition, equipping business owners with practical strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining the right people to support business growth. In addition, attendees were taken through the Termination of Employment Contracts. This helped them understand their legal responsibilities and best practices for managing employment relationships fairly and in compliance with the law.
Beyond the presentations, the workshop created an interactive platform where participants engaged directly with subject matter experts, asked questions relevant to their businesses, and exchanged experiences with fellow entrepreneurs. These conversations reinforced the importance of continuous learning and collaboration in overcoming the challenges faced by small and growing businesses.
