Gaborone — Incepta Communications successfully hosted its first-ever Incepta Movember Walk on Saturday, 29 November 2025, marking a significant step in championing men’s health awareness in Botswana. The inaugural walk brought together media practitioners, clients, partners, employees and members of the public who showed up in solidarity to support a cause that continues to affect thousands of men across the country.

Held under the theme “Walking for a Cause That Matters,” the maiden event focused on raising awareness around prostate cancer, mental health challenges and general wellness among men. Participants took on an energising morning route through Gaborone, symbolising collective commitment to early testing, open dialogue and healthier lifestyles.
The successful launch of the Incepta Movember Walk sets a strong foundation for what is expected to become an annual flagship initiative in the company’s wellness-driven calendar.
Incepta Communications Operations Director, Colleen Zubaider Selogelo, expressed deep gratitude and pride over the strong turnout and enthusiasm. “As our first Movember Walk, the response exceeded our expectations. It showed us that conversations around men’s health are long overdue and that our communities are ready to play an active role in driving change. We are proud to have created a space that not only encourages men to prioritise their well-being but also strengthens the support around them.”

Following the walk, attendees engaged in wellness activations, health education sessions and conversations led by medical professionals and organisations advocating for men’s health. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the importance of early screening for prostate cancer, recognising signs of mental health distress and adopting sustainable wellness habits.
Several media houses attended and covered the event, helping amplify Incepta’s message and ensuring that the impact extended far beyond the morning’s activities. Their presence reinforced the role of communication in building awareness and reaching men who may not always seek help proactively.

The successful launch of the Incepta Movember Walk sets a strong foundation for what is expected to become an annual flagship initiative in the company’s wellness-driven calendar. Incepta aims to continue expanding the walk and deepening its engagement with health experts, partners, and communities in the coming years.
