Gaborone, Botswana: Local organization SHE ON STANDBY is introducing a new chapter in its commitment to safe, responsible, and sustainable work environments with the launch of the SHERQ Impact Awards Botswana 2026.

This groundbreaking national initiative will celebrate excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ). The awards are held in partnership with AfriSAFE, and officially endorsed by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety.

The SHERQ Impact Awards Botswana 2026 will honour the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to keep workplaces, industries, schools, and communities safe and resilient. These include safety officers, environmental advocates, risk managers, quality professionals and many others whose work often goes unnoticed but remains essential to national development and wellbeing. The awards will spotlight individuals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication to upholding the highest SHERQ standards.

This groundbreaking national initiative will celebrate excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ). The awards are held in partnership with AfriSAFE, and officially endorsed by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety.

The two-day programme will begin on April 27, 2026 with the SHERQ Conference, a gathering of experts, regulators, practitioners, students, and industry leaders engaging in conversations on current challenges, emerging trends, and innovations shaping the SHERQ landscape. On April 28, 2026, Botswana will join the rest of the world in commemorating Global Safety Day with a national march promoting the importance of occupational safety and health. The day will culminate in an awards gala honouring the best performers across sectors including mining, transport, agriculture, healthcare, youth innovation, waste management, and more. The event venue will be announced in due course.

The SHERQ Impact Awards are open to all, professionals, students, corporates, government departments, small businesses, and non-profit organisations. Nomination categories will soon be released, alongside information on exhibition, partnership, and sponsorship opportunities.

The nation is invited to take part in this milestone event and to help elevate a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and quality excellence. Together, we can honour those who lead with impact and inspire a safer, more sustainable future for all.
