On Thursday, 8th May 2025, we successfully hosted the inaugural Kweneng Economic Summit at Ntsweng Site, Molepolole. This landmark event, coordinated by the Office of the Member of Parliament for Molepolole South in collaboration with Market Players, served as a dynamic platform for strategic dialogue aimed at advancing economic growth and sustainable development within the Kweneng District.
The event was officially opened by Hon. Moeti Mohwasa, Acting President of the Republic of Botswana, marking the significance of the discussions held. Several dignitaries were in attendance, including Assistant Ministers Hon. Moswaane, Hon. Motheothe, and Hon. Atamelang, alongside esteemed ambassadors from the embassies of China, South Africa, Nigeria, and other diplomatic missions, further emphasizing the summit’s international relevance.
The summit further convened key economic stakeholders, including local authorities, industry leaders, economic planners and community representatives, fostering robust discussions on critical areas such as:
