Peter Kesitilwe has resigned from his position as Chairman of the Botswana Football League (BFL) with immediate effect. He made the announcement on Monday through a formal resignation letter addressed to the league’s shareholders and board members. The resignation comes just a day following the BFL General Meeting in Palapye.

In his letter, Kesitilwe expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve, describing his tenure as one of the greatest honours of his professional career. He highlighted key achievements under his leadership, including strengthening governance structures, improving the league’s commercial viability, and raising football standards in Botswana.

However, Kesitilwe stated that after careful consideration, he believed it was time for new leadership to take the BFL forward. He emphasized that his decision was also motivated by a desire to protect his professional reputation and uphold the principles of ethical leadership.

Despite stepping down, Kesitilwe assured stakeholders of his commitment to a smooth transition and reiterated his enduring passion for Botswana football. He expressed confidence in the league’s future, praising the team in place to drive its strategic vision.
