Boko Leaves for Davos, Switzerland

President Duma Gideon Boko has left the country for Davos-Kloster, Switzerland, where he will participate at the 2025 World Economic Forum

President Duma Gideon Boko, will participate at the 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF), on 20th – 24th January 2025.

The World Economic Forum is held annually and it brings together global leaders from various sectors including government; international organisations; private sector; civil society and academia; to deliberate on ways of improving the state of the global community through entrepreneurship, innovation and cooperation. An estimated sixty Heads of State and Government are expected to participate at this year’s Forum.

The Meeting will be held under the theme, “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age.” It will cover five thematic areas which will among others, explore ways of enhancing global cooperation and economic growth; identify common solutions for tackling climate change through clean technologies; as well as examine ways to invest in human capital development, promote upskilling and job creation.

At WEF, President Boko will participate in a number of High-Level Sessions including being part of panels focussing on Africa’s economy and governance, as well as, co-chair a session on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The President will also hold a series of High-Level bilateral meetings with government and business leaders.

President Boko is accompanied by Honourable Tiroeaona Ntsima, Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, and Senior Government Officials. The President and his delegation are expected in Gaborone on 24th January 2025. (SOURCE- BWPresidency)
