Botswana Diamonds Regain Duty-Free Access to US Market

Botswana’s natural diamonds will once again enter the United States duty-free following the expiry of temporary US tariff measures.

The development follows months of engagement between the Government of Botswana, with US counterparts and industry stakeholders.

The decision gives Botswana and Namibia duty-free access to the US market, while diamond exports from Angola and South Africa will attract a 12.5% tariff.
