Botswana Musicians Union 2025 / 2026 Elective Annual General Assembly

Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) is heading to Palapye for its 2025 / 2026 Annual General Assembly (AGA) from the 24th to the 26th of July 2026. 

At this elective General Assembly, Delegates from the fifteen (15) BOMU District Chapters nationwide will have the opportunity to usher in the new leadership of BOMU through elections for the positions of the National Executive Committee. 

We are expecting amongst other dignitaries; the Honourable Minister of Sport & Arts, Honourable Member of Parliament for Palapye, Chief Executive Officer and the Board Chairperson of the National Arts Council (NACB), BOMU Projects Consultants, Honourable for Council Chairperson for Palapye District Council, The Chief Executive Officer and the Board Chairperson of Copyright Society of Botswana (COSBOTS), and BOMU Leaders and Delegates from across the fifteen (15) BOMU District Chapters nationwide. 

BOMU is a nationwide based organisation with fifteen (15) District Chapters, each with its own District Chapter Committee.

BOMU is an organisation representing the interests of the Musicians and indeed the Creative Sector as whole. BOMU is a nationwide based organisation with fifteen (15) District Chapters, each with its own District Chapter Committee. The District Chapter Committees report to the National Executive Committee, which in turn reports to the Annual General Assembly; the supreme body. 

Amongst the Projects that BOMU is responsible for are the Annual BOMU Music Awards which this year will be held on the 29th of August 2026 in Gaborone. BOMU is also in partnership with NAHPA National AIDS & Health Promotion Agency (NAHPA) and Tebelopele Wellness Centre currently executing Project Louder.

Project Louder is about the Voice of the Young and Adolescents in the fight Against & Prevention of HIV/AIDS through Music related activities message dissemination. BOMU is also in partnership with the Copyright Society of Botswana (COSBOTS) executing a Sobriety & Mental Health Project not only targeting the Botswana Creative Industry, but the nation as a whole.
