Fresh from his commanding victory at the Paris Diamond League, Collen Kebinatshipi will be back in action this weekend. He will line up alongside Bayapo Ndori in a mouth-watering men’s 400 metres race at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon.

The race has been billed as a Botswana-versus-USA contest. Kebinatshipi and Ndori are the only non-Americans in a field packed with some of the United States’ biggest one-lap stars.

Awaiting the Botswana pair are Olympic champion Quincy Hall, Olympic 400m hurdles champion Rai Benjamin, former world champion Michael Norman, Chris Bailey, Jacory Patterson, Khaleb McRae and Chris Robinson.

Kebinatshipi heads to Hayward Field full of confidence after producing one of the performances of the season in Paris. The reigning world champion has established himself as the man to beat in the men’s 400m and will be looking to continue his impressive run against a field stacked with American talent.

Ndori, meanwhile, returns to individual competition after helping Botswana win gold in the men’s 4x400m relay at the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone earlier this year. Together with Kebinatshipi, he remains a key member of Botswana’s growing 400m powerhouse.
