Race for Rhinos on Saturday proudly hosted the Race fundraising Gala Dinner, an evening that reaffirmed Botswana’s unwavering commitment to conservation-led development.

Race for Rhinos Patron, former President Lt. Gen. Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, spoke passionately about Botswana’s long-standing conservation legacy and the deliberate efforts made over the years to position wildlife protection at the centre of national development. He reflected on the country’s firm stance against poaching, the strengthening of anti-poaching units and the global partnerships built to safeguard endangered species. He reminded guests that protecting rhinos is not only about preserving wildlife, but about securing livelihoods, sustaining tourism, and protecting Botswana’s international reputation as a conservation leader.
Minister of Transport & Infrastructure Development, Hon. Noah Salakae affirming government’s commitment to conservation led development reinforced this message, emphasising that conservation is both an intergenerational responsibility and an economic imperative.
