Vivo Energy Botswana has officially opened a new Shell service station in Jwaneng, bringing its total network to 83 service stations across the country and reinforcing its long-term commitment to investment in Botswana.

Strategically located along one of the country’s key transit routes, the new site serves both domestic motorists and regional travellers, including those moving between Botswana and Namibia. The corridor plays an important role in supporting tourism, trade and broader economic activity, and the investment enhances infrastructure along this busy route.

Operating under the globally recognised Shell brand. The facility offers quality fuel and lubricants alongside an integrated convenience retail experience through partnerships with Pick n Pay Go and KFC.

The development has created employment opportunities during both the construction and operational phases, contributing to skills development and local economic participation.

Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Botswana, Sesupo Wagamang said:

“Our expansion is intentional and sustainable. Each new service station strengthens our distribution network, supports local enterprise and improves service standards for our customers. As we continue to grow, our priority remains clear, to invest responsibly and to ensure that our presence delivers measurable value to the communities we serve.”

“The opening of this service station in Jwaneng reflects our continued confidence in Botswana and our deliberate strategy to strengthen our national footprint. With 83 service stations now operating across the country, we are focused on improving accessibility, supporting mobility and contributing to economic activity along key growth corridors. This investment is about long-term partnership and responsible expansion.”

The Member of Parliament for Jwaneng, Honourable Omphemetse Kwapa welcomed the development, noting its significance for the local economy:

Reinforcing the company’s long-term outlook, Sesupo added:

“Our expansion is intentional and sustainable. Each new service station strengthens our distribution network, supports local enterprise and improves service standards for our customers. As we continue to grow, our priority remains clear, to invest responsibly and to ensure that our presence delivers measurable value to the communities we serve.”

The Jwaneng opening follows the recent launch of another Shell service station in Village, forming part of Vivo Energy Botswana’s sustained retail expansion programme.

As the company continues to grow its presence, it remains committed to operating responsibly, collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring that its investments deliver tangible value to communities across Botswana.
