Residents across several districts in Botswana should prepare for chilly temperatures and possible rainfall today as cloudy conditions continue to dominate much of the country, the department of metrological services hs warned.

According to the department’s forecast, the western and northern parts of Botswana are expected to receive isolated thundershowers and rain, while other regions will remain partly cloudy with cold to mild conditions.

The Kgalagadi District is forecast to experience cloudy and cold weather accompanied by isolated thundershowers or rain, a development likely to bring relief to farmers and livestock owners hoping for moisture during the dry season.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on wet roads in areas expecting rain, while residents are encouraged to dress warmly due to the cold conditions affecting most districts.

In the Ngamiland District and Ghanzi District, residents can expect cloudy and mild weather with isolated thundershowers or rain throughout the day.

Meanwhile, the southern belt of the country — including the Southern District, South East District, Kgatleng District, Kweneng District, Southern-Central and North East District — will remain partly cloudy and cold.

The Chobe District and Northern-Central areas are expected to be partly cloudy with mild temperatures.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on wet roads in areas expecting rain, while residents are encouraged to dress warmly due to the cold conditions affecting most districts.

It is understood that the changing weather patterns have once again sparked hopes of more rainfall, with many Batswana welcoming the cool and cloudy conditions sweeping across the country.
