Mochudi Centre Chiefs have announced nine new signings as the club continues preparations for the upcoming
FNB Premiership season, strengthening every area of the squad in one of its busiest transfer windows in recent years.
The Kgatleng side has added experience, youth and international talent as it looks to build on the progress made over the past season.
Leading the list of arrivals is Botswana international defender Mosha Gaolaolwe, who joins from Township Rollers after ending his association with the Gaborone giants. Gaolaolwe brings top-flight experience and national team pedigree to a squad that has undergone significant changes in recent seasons.
Chiefs have also secured the services of winger Mpho Kgaswane from Gaborone United and former Township Rollers forward Omphile Vissagie. Attacking midfielder Phenyo Serameng has joined from Sua Flamingoes, adding another option in the final third.
The recruitment drive further includes Benson Mosokobanji from Santa Green, Thabiso Serokane from Dinare FC, Phenyo Lekgetho from Future Stars and Kelvin Ndebele from Morupule Wanderers.
Adding an international element to the squad is Brazilian midfielder Kennedy Xavier da Costa, who arrives from Indian side Gokulam FC.The club continues to invest in its playing personnel while refining its football structures and long-term planning.
Speaking recently, Centre Chiefs General Manager Owe Mmolawa said the club had reached an important stage in its development process.
Beyond player recruitment, Chiefs have invested in strengthening their technical department and refining recruitment processes. The club has also focused on establishing what it describes as a clear football identity aimed at delivering consistent performances.
“There is a point in every rebuilding project where optimism stops being theoretical and becomes a test,” Mmolawa said.
“The foundation is no longer being built. It is already in place. Football does not allow us to make promises; it only allows us to make commitments through performance.”
Chiefs enjoyed a productive campaign last season, finishing in top four and reaching the Orange FA Cup final. Those achievements have increased expectations around the club ahead of the new season. According to Mmolawa, the focus is now on consistency and maintaining progress. “The expectation internally is clear: we must be part of the conversation at the top end of the table. Whether that becomes a title challenge depends on execution over a full campaign,” he said.

Mmolawa described the club’s transformation as a cultural reset built around structure, discipline and accountability. The appointment of a Spanish coach has also influenced the club’s football philosophy and approach on the field.
“We are now more structured in and out of possession,” Mmolawa said.
“There is greater tactical awareness, better spacing and improved decision-making under pressure.”
The club says its recruitment strategy has centred on identifying players who fit its football philosophy while maintaining high standards of professionalism and consistency. Rather than focusing solely on reputation, Chiefs have prioritised footballers capable of adapting to the club’s tactical requirements. Mmolawa says quality, character and tactical suitability have become key considerations in the club’s recruitment process.
The latest arrivals bring a range of attributes to the squad. Gaolaolwe adds experience and leadership at the back, Kgaswane provides options in wide areas, while Vissagie and Serameng strengthen attacking positions. Da Costa’s arrival introduces further competition in midfield alongside the club’s existing options.
The transfer activity comes during a period of continued development for the club, both on and off the pitch. Having strengthened several areas of its operations, Chiefs now turn their attention to integrating the new signings into the squad ahead of the new Premiership campaign. With nine additions confirmed, the club has made its intentions clear in the transfer market. The next phase will be translating those changes into performances when the season begins.
