Batswana betsho le Madomi, yesterday we witnessed the first ever by-election in which BDP participated as an opposition Party. Unfortunately, we lost the race.

The above notwithstanding, we have learnt valuable lessons that we will take forward. We will become a better, sharper and more appealing opposition party over time. We owe it to ourselves, to our forefathers and to those whose hope is in us.

I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who supported our cause in one way or the other. In particular, I would like to thank Diana Kaartze for her gallant fight and representing us so well. I must also thank all those who voted for us, as well as to assure them that we will keep the fire burning.

Ke tsela e e haphegileng, ke leboga MaDomkrag a Kgalagadi South. Le berekile. Le dirile ka dipelo tsa lona tsotlhe. Tswee-tswee tswelelang le eme ka dinao, le direle phathi ya rona ka lorato.

Lastly, congratulations to Rre Tokyo Modise and the ruling party. We wish him, the party and the people of Kgalagadi South all the best in attaining the promises they set out.
