Mochudi: Old Mutual Botswana has reaffirmed its commitment to education and inclusive learning with a P30,000 in-kind sponsorship for the Linchwe II Community Junior Secondary School (CJSS) prize-giving ceremony in Mochudi.

This marks the second consecutive year that Old Mutual Botswana has supported the school’s prize-giving ceremony. The sponsorship will help recognise and reward learner achievement through trophies, certificates, branded merchandise and vouchers for top-performing learners.

Old Mutual Short-Term Insurance Botswana Managing Director Gaone Sibanda and Group Head of Legal and Company Secretary Precious Ngubane joined school and community leaders, teachers, parents and learners at the ceremony to celebrate learners’ hard work and achievements throughout the academic year.

Linchwe II CJSS also caters for learners with special educational needs, making inclusive education an important part of its role within the community. Old Mutual Botswana believes that creating opportunities for all learners to participate, develop and reach their potential is essential to building a stronger future.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sibanda said the initiative extends beyond recognising academic performance to encouraging young people to believe in their potential and continue striving towards their goals.

Old Mutual Botswana also recognised the important role played by teachers, parents and school leadership in supporting learners and creating an environment where young people with different abilities and educational needs can learn and succeed.

“Every prize presented today represents hard work, perseverance and the potential of a young person. Through this sponsorship, we want to celebrate those achievements while encouraging every learner to keep reaching for more. When we invest in education and create opportunities for young people to thrive, we are investing in Botswana’s future.”
