Motshegwa Restores Tumasera

On the 15th August 2025, the Minister of Local Government and Traditional Affairs Ketlhalefile FC Motshegwa addressed people of villages of Sekeka, Tupya, Malete, Rasesa over their village boundaries as some wanted to stand as independent villages from each other. The combined population of Tupya, Malete, Rasesa is 2636 and the population of Seleka is 2210. 

He listened to them to enable him to make an informed decision coupled with consideration of amongst others Revised National Settlement Policy of 2004 and consideration of proper allocation of developments taking into consideration limited resources. Today he addressed residents and delivered his decision as follows; 

• Seleka to exist as a separate village as they separated from others as a result of court order and therefore that must be respected 

• Tumasera customary administration is to comprise Tupya, Malete, Rasesa. There was developmental consideration in this decision to ensure that developments are pulled together. These three will continue to have their own dikgosi with  coordination done at the level of Tumasera customary court. He urged the resists to focus on unity , togetherness and quest for developments .
