Bayport Botswana has launched a financial product aimed at expanding women’s access to credit while encouraging long-term wealth creation, as financial institutions increasingly seek to deepen financial inclusion through integrated financial services.

The product, called Atlega Kgarebe, combines a personal loan with financial education, investment contributions and roadside assistance. The launch follows Bayport Botswana’s recent Gold Client Protection Certification from Microfinanza Rating, an international standard recognising adherence to responsible finance principles.

Bayport said the initiative aligns with the objectives of the 2X Global Challenge, which promotes investment in women through improved access to finance and economic participation.

Bayport Botswana Head of Sales Strategy and Digital Channels Gosego Makgale said the initiative is designed to expand access to credit while helping women build financial resilience and long-term wealth. Through a partnership with African Alliance Botswana, qualifying customers will receive an investment contribution of as much as P10,000 into a money market fund, funded by Bayport and separate from their loan obligations.

The product also includes roadside assistance through Emergency Assist 991, extending support beyond traditional lending services.

Bayport said the initiative aligns with the objectives of the 2X Global Challenge, which promotes investment in women through improved access to finance and economic participation.
