Vivo Energy Botswana has expanded its retail network with the opening of a new Shell-branded service station in Tlokweng, underscoring the growing importance of convenience retailing in Botswana’s fuel sector.
The company said the investment forms part of its strategy to combine fuel sales with complementary retail and food offerings as consumer expectations evolve beyond traditional service station models.
The new site offers Shell fuels and lubricants alongside convenience retail and food services, reflecting a broader trend in the industry toward integrated retail destinations. Vivo Energy Botswana Managing Director Sesupo Wagamang said the company remains focused on expanding access to fuel products while improving convenience for customers through partnerships with retail and food brands.
The company has increasingly integrated retail offerings into its service station network through partnerships with brands including Pick n Pay, Sefalana Cash & Carry and KFC.

The Tlokweng station includes a partnership with Quatros, adding food and refreshment services to the site’s retail offering.
Vivo Energy said network expansion contributes to employment creation, local enterprise development and improved access to energy products and retail services.
The opening forms part of the company’s broader investment programme aimed at expanding its national footprint and strengthening its position in Botswana’s fuel retail market.
