MAUN: Fresh from its Leadership Conference held on Friday, Bomaid is this week in Maun as part of its ongoing programme of stakeholder engagements ahead of the Fund’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.

Over the coming days, the Fund will engage with customers, healthcare providers, corporate clients, members of the Fourth Estate, and other stakeholders across the Ngamiland region. The engagements are designed to strengthen relationships, share updates on key business developments, gather feedback, and better understand the healthcare needs and experiences of stakeholders in the region.

The Maun engagements form part of a broader national programme that has seen Bomaid connect with stakeholders across Botswana throughout the year. As the Fund moves closer to its Annual General Meeting, these conversations remain an important platform for listening, learning, and ensuring stakeholder perspectives continue to inform decision-making and service delivery.

Speaking on the importance of the engagements, Corporate Communications Manager Tshepo Happy Maphanyane said:

“Healthcare works best when it is built on strong relationships and open dialogue. These engagements provide an opportunity for us to listen directly to our stakeholders, share important updates about the Fund, and better understand how we can continue improving the experience of our customers and partners. They also reinforce our belief that healthcare is most effective when providers, employers, customers, communities, and funders work together.”

These conversations are important because healthcare extends beyond funding medical treatment. It is about understanding people’s experiences, promoting healthier lifestyles, encouraging preventative care, and ensuring that healthcare remains accessible, relevant, and sustainable for future generations.

Bomaid’s commitment to engagement also extends beyond formal stakeholder platforms.

On 20 June 2026, Bomaid, in partnership with the Dutch Reformed Church Gaborone and a growing network of public and private sector partners, will host the Community Health Day. The initiative will bring together families, healthcare professionals, wellness practitioners, community organisations, and corporate partners in a shared effort to promote holistic wellbeing.

The Fund is also encouraging customers and healthcare providers to make greater use of its digital claims submission channels, which improve convenience, streamline processes, and support faster turnaround times. These efforts form part of Bomaid’s broader digital transformation journey aimed at delivering a seamless and customer-centred healthcare experience.

The event will provide health screenings, wellness education, physical activities, and access to valuable health information and services. It is designed to encourage individuals and families to take a more proactive approach to their health while reinforcing the importance of community participation in improving health outcomes.

This year’s Community Health Day will place particular emphasis on preventative healthcare and early detection, including breast cancer awareness. Supporting this commitment, Bomaid recently assisted Princess Marina Hospital’s Breast and Endocrine Unit through the procurement of specialised biopsy needles required for breast cancer investigations. The intervention forms part of the Fund’s broader efforts to support healthcare institutions and improve access to essential healthcare services.

Alongside these community initiatives, Bomaid continues to invest in innovative healthcare solutions that empower customers to take greater ownership of their wellbeing.

The Thrive with Bomaid platform continues to gain momentum as customers embrace healthier lifestyles through activity tracking, wellness challenges, educational content, and preventative health tools. Recent enhancements have extended access to dependants, allowing entire families to participate in and benefit from the wellness journey.

Beyond these initiatives, Bomaid continues to contribute to national conversations around healthcare sustainability, preventative care, customer wellbeing, and service excellence through its participation in healthcare conferences, stakeholder forums, wellness activations, marathons, cycling events, customer webinars, radio engagements, and community outreach programmes.

At the heart of these efforts is a simple belief: healthier communities are built through partnership.

Whether engaging stakeholders in Maun, supporting healthcare institutions, promoting wellness through technology, or bringing communities together through initiatives such as the Community Health Day, Bomaid remains committed to creating value that extends beyond healthcare funding.

Because the future of healthcare is not only about treating illness.

It is about empowering people to live healthier, happier lives.

And together, that future is already taking shape.

The Maun stakeholder engagement delegation is led by Chief Executive Officer Moraki Mokgosana and includes Chief Financial Officer Peo Pillar, Chief Customer Experience Officer Ms. Segolame Macheng, Chief Clinical Services Officer Dr. Malebogo Kebabonye, Business Development Manager Tsaone Tlalanyane, Human Resource Manager  Ogolotse Kgamanyane, Claims Manager Dr. Lady Modise, and Corporate Communications Manager Tshepo Maphanyane.
