The Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) has installed e-gates at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA). The self-service machines are meant to improve efficiency in passenger processing and enhance operational excellence by reducing long queues at security screening points.

Placed at the international departure security screening points, the e-gates will also provide security validation on boarding passes.

Commencement is set for 13th February 2025. The Airport Staff will be in place to assist passengers in need.

CAAB also announced the introduction of centralized passenger screening and baggage for international and domestic departures from mid-March 2025 to increase efficiency.
